Born Christmas Day 1945
My love of art stems from my childhood when I would do chalk drawings on pavements..art materials were in short supply in those days and we had plenty of pavements.

Art School 1959-1962. This was a marvellous time for me as I studied amongst like minded people and the emphasis on learning to draw and paint was a rigorous daily routine. My final two years were spent learning the complexities of commercial art, illustration and cartooning..no computers in those days folks, so you were as good as the skill in you hands.

I spent most of my working life in the graphic design industry where, along the way, I was fortunate to learn the art of sign writing, poster writing and screen print.

Eventually, I started my own screen print and display company which lasted for 43 years but took every opportunity to carry on with my painting.

I now paint full time in my studio at Vernon Mill in Stockport and am a member of the VMA.
Although my work is based on the classical style of landscape painting, I have spent the last twelve months developing an additional new approach which is influenced by my love of cartooning and also incorporates various sign writing techniques.

The new work has generated much interest and quite a few sales!
