Eva Hamilton-Fisher
BA (Hons) Fine Arts, Nyiregyhaza College, Hungary

1995: BA (HONS) Fine Arts, teacher of drawing, Nyiregyhaza College, Hungary Born in 1969 in Budapest but spending her childhood in the countryside of eastern Hungary, Eva lived among warm and colourful atmosphere rich in folk art and the traditions of the multi-ethnic cultures, such as Slave, Scwabian, Gypsy and Magyar. In 1995 after receiving her degree from Nyiregyhaza College, she returned to a fast changing multicultural Budapest, where she worked as a teacher and carried on painting. In 2001 Eva married and moved to England and devoted herself full time to painting in her studio.

Eva’s work is a link between her past and her present, old and new elements, Eastern Traditional and Western Modern. She believes that the process of capturing and transforming reality is a long internal journey based on nature and past traditions, which has at the same time, an impulse to find its right place in the present. Her work includes the use of charcoal with its simplicity of black and white, while her oil paintings are colourful and atmospheric often referencing her homeland.

She has had several group and solo shows in the North-West region, including Stockport Municipal Art Gallery and the Manchester Academy of Fine Arts, as well as being featured in Cheshire Life magazine, the Manchester Evening News, and the Stockport Express, Macclesfield Express, and Wendy J Levy Gallery’s Art Observer.

Her images were used for television film dramas, ‘Fallen,’ and ‘Vincent 2.’
In 2008 Eva exhibited in Manchester’s Urbis Gallery.
