Jan Cartain has worked from her studio at Vernon Mill, Stockport since 2000 when the studios were first established. Jan works with a variety of materials and techniques and has produced a mixture of contemporary and traditional work where landscape and figurative pieces form the main part. Jan expresses her impressions of a place through atmospheric and emotive works in acrylics, oils, water-colour and more recently pastels. Jan has been invited to stage and participate in exhibitions in the north west as well as exhibiting regularly at Vernon Mill apart from establishing her own client base.
