A biomedical scientist by day, artist & photographer all other times!

...of mixed breeding, Scouse by birth then a ten year spell in Oxford before moving to Stockport two years ago, has lead to an interesting accent and many varied artistic influences. John took to life drawing in Oxford, with exhibitions of charcoal portraits during the Oxfordshire Arts Weeks Festival and a time running his own life drawing group. 1999 saw a change of direction, with John learning how to process and hand print artistic photographs under the tutoring available at the Oxford Photographers Workshop. After converting his attic to a studio he started shooting men and women interested in becoming photographic models.

Moving north has provided the opportunity to have his own studio, where he offers tuition in the photographic arts and continues to explore his interest in moody monochrome and the Fine Art Nude, examples of which are available to view here and at the online galleries listed below. Recent Press work has afforded him the opportunity to convert to digital media, thus allowing his exploration into colour print making.

John undertakes all aspects of Social & Commercial Photography. He is a member of the British Professional Photographers Association (BPPA), the Society of Wedding & Portrait Photographers (SWPP) and the National Union of Journalists (NUJ).
