Richard Brown
Sculpture & 3D Design (Sheffield), PGCE (Manchester MMU)

(b.1949) Richard works full-time as a teacher of Art & Design. His work is eclectic in approach, working in varied materials in both two and three dimensions. He creates pieces for exhibition and to private commissions.

Wood, metal, glass, ceramics, paints, discarded junk and natural items are just some of the materials he uses to translate his ideas into reality. He likes to think of it as using images to create new images, one idea spawning a range of inter-related outcomes. By example a sketchbook drawing from a recent holiday to Greece, inspired a range of pieces taken from the pencil drawings to become wall mounted and illuminated constructions.
